Making visible the invisible 

South-North migrations combined with growing Muslim populations.

Zooming in on Italy through the prism of normativity, MISLAM studies how law is diffused, ethnic/cultural/religious provisions are transplanted, and social practices are translated into concrete actions across different judicial and extra-judicial environments. 

The project focuses on the real-life narratives of migrants by adopting a multidisciplinary inter-legal comparative approach, while combining desk research with empirical and ethnographic investigations.
